If you’re a coffee lover planning a trip to Uluwatu, Bali, you’re in for a treat! Uluwatu isn’t just famous for its stunning beaches and amazing surf spots—it’s also home to some of the best coffee shops on the island. Whether you’re in need of a post-surf caffeine fix or simply want to enjoy a great cup of coffee, you need to add these 5 cafes to your list.

1. Joy Cafe

Joy Cafe is one of the cutest coffee shops that I visited during my stay in Uluwatu. From the upbeat staff to the attention to detail in both the decor and food presentation, every aspect of this cafe radiates happiness. I couldn’t help but think that if I were ever to own a coffee shop, it would look something like this. I loved my iced vanilla latte, pancakes, and Berliner donut. Be sure to try their smoothie bowls if you’re looking for a lighter, healthier option.

2. Salty Coffee

Salty Coffee is a vibrant and vibey coffee shop tucked away near Uluwatu’s famous Bingin Beach. I’m obsessed with the laid-back surf vibes and thoughtfully curated decor, which makes the entire space feel effortlessly cool. The food is just as impressive—I couldn’t get enough of the peanut butter waffles, and my iced vanilla latte was perfection. If you’re in Bali, this spot is a total gem and a must add to your coffee shop list!

3. Suka Espresso

Suka Espresso is one of my favorite brunch spots in Uluwatu, and I went back multiple times—it was THAT good. The interior is cool yet laid-back, and the atmosphere reflects that. We visited post-surf, still in our cover-ups with soaking wet hair, and fit right in. Suka Espresso is perfect for breakfast or lunch, with an expansive menu—and you definitely don’t want to miss their coffee. I highly recommend the ‘Suka’s Iced Coffee,’ made with espresso, milk, and ice cream—I’m still dreaming about it! You can’t go wrong with their avocado toast or eggs benedict, but honestly, whatever you choose to order here will be good.

4. Drifter Surf Shop & Cafe

Part surf shop and part cafe, Drifter is a great spot to grab breakfast or lunch. The cafe’s outdoor patio is a vibe with surf boards lining the entrance. I enjoyed an iced vanilla latte and smoothie bowl and the relaxed atmosphere was the perfect start to the day. After sipping on your morning coffee, be sure to check out their surf shop, where you’ll find quality clothing, gear, and art.

5. Mamada’s

Mamada’s is a true local gem in Uluwatu. This cozy, unassuming cafe offers an inviting space where you can enjoy a great cup of coffee with the best of the best Balinese hospitality. It’s the perfect spot for work remotely, offering a spacious, quiet, and peaceful environment. And be sure to try their delicious artisanal baked goods—the lemon yogurt loaf is a must-try.

Uluwatu’s coffee scene is vibrant, offering many more options beyond those I’ve listed. Whether you’re looking to unwind after a morning surf or simply want to savor a coffee in the tropical paradise of Uluwatu, these five coffee shops provide the perfect escape. Wishing you the best trip!
